Gimli beach

Spent a good day in Gimli with the girls. We watched as a boat was taken out of the lake by a crane and ran up and down the boardwalk until Aa got upset that other people were using the stairs.

We walked the beach and looked at a dead fish in the water. Aa got into a "loop" of finding rocks to throw at standing pool of yucky water.

Of course the search for shells and cool stones netted Aa a pocket full.

When she finally fell asleep we got hamburgers and the largest order of fries EVER.

So gi-normous posting a photo would just turn you off.

My Aa loves the new paints

The $1.95 set of watercolour paints was pretty much used up after only a couple of hours of continuous use this afternoon. I managed to find some extra brushes from my university days in Fine Arts so that A and I could take part in the fun. Aa had a death grip on the brush that came with the set.

It was very cool to watch her test each colour then move on to mixing two then three and more for different effects.

At one point she made a circle with a line coming out the bottom. When I told her that she made a nice tree she immediately went to the pink and announced that it needed some apples.

Best $2 ever spent! Thanks A for insisting.

Hemingway template

After months of disdaining the free blogger CMS mainly because of the stale templates offered I discovered that there is a community of code monkeys making free templates that are easy to install. Crazy!


I had switched to the free wordpress because of the template variety and great community. But the goodness of its template styles is starting to be over shadowed by the lack of functionality. I can't post videos from Brightcove (my employer has a Brightcove channel). No google apps. No adsense. No email posting (well Flickr can act as a go-between).


Well you see what I'm talking about.


And now I can come back to blogger.
